A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the third-party results provider, not retained as a search history by our own servers. If you contact us, we use the contents of your message only to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services maintain ordinary logs, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time stamps. Aggregate review helps maintain the service and understand reader use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
What We Do With This Data
We use this limited data to operate and repair the service, measure traffic, and improve its references. We do not sell visitor lists or create profiles of individual readers.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code ยงยง59.1-574 through 59.1-581, may provide access, correction, deletion, portability, or opt-out rights where it applies. Because this service keeps very little, requests usually involve the contact mailbox and available logs. Use the Contact page. Public records held by Virginia, Winchester, or Frederick County custodians remain outside our control and must be addressed to the proper office.
